Sensex jumps 929 points as financial, banking stocks rise

Equity indices kicked off the new year on a positive note with the benchmark BSE sensex rising over 900 points led by gains in financial, banking and metal stocks. The 30-share BSE index surged 929 points or 1.6 per cent to close at 59,183. While, the broader NSE Nifty settled 272 points or 1.57 per cent higher at 17,626. https://ift.tt/3zoaCiG
