Industrialist Rahul Bajaj, India's original 'Make in India' king, dies at 83

Bajaj Group's former chairman Rahul Bajaj died in Pune on Saturday after a long battle with cancer, a spokesperson for the company said. He was 83.

Born in Kolkata in 1938, Bajaj had taken charge of the Bajaj Group in 1965 and under him, the group soared to one of the biggest in the sub-continent.

He resigned as Bajaj Auto Chairman in April 2021.

Bajaj is an Indian auto company based in Pune manufacturing two-wheelers and three-wheelers whose tagline "Hamara Bajaj" became synonymous with bikes.
