India's power output grows at fastest pace in 33 years, fuelled by coal
India's power generation increased sharply by 11.5% to 1,591.11 billion kWh in the fiscal year 2022-23. The sharp rise in demand was caused by unrelenting summer heat, a colder winter in northern India, and an economic upturn. Though renewable energy output increased, power generated from coal rose to 1,162.91 billion kWh, with its share in overall output rising to 73.1%, the highest since fiscal year 2019. https://ift.tt/zoO78Kr
