Microsoft says US has asked for $28.9 billion in audit dispute
Microsoft will appeal a decision by the US Internal Revenue Service (IRS) that the company owes at least $28.9 billion in taxes. The dispute stems from a 2012 IRS audit into transfer pricing, in which Microsoft had been moving profits to tax havens to avoid the US corporate tax rate. Microsoft has since changed its corporate structure and practices, making the issues raised by the IRS irrelevant to its current income recording. https://ift.tt/HiRCvAI
