Toyota's Daihatsu to compensate suppliers over output halt

Daihatsu Motor, a small car unit of Toyota Motor, will compensate 423 domestic suppliers due to a safety scandal. Production in Japan is halted until the end of next month. Compensation will be based on past business volumes. Daihatsu will work with main suppliers to address the scandal fallout and may help smaller subcontractors access support funds.
